It matters that parents are there

Throughout the past five months, you have followed the happenings at the Capitol through our weekly Legislative Updates. You have counted on us to bring you timely, credible information about proposed education legislation.

In the last Update, you read how parents made an impact on education policy this session, from stepping forward to testify against levy elections in only even-numbered years to fighting for a legislative hearing on repurposing integration aid.

Parents United is here because we have supporters of our work. Their contributions make it possible for us to monitor legislative activity and produce the weekly updates sent to you and others in all of Minnesota’s 134 legislative districts. Fully half of our operating budget is paid for by these individual contributions.

To ensure parents have an unbiased voice in policy making for their public schools, Parents United does not take money from unions, other education groups, or those asking us to align with their agendas. In order to remain independent, it’s critical that we grow our individual donor base.

Today, we have exciting news. A donor has stepped forward with a challenge. Become one of our supporters this week, and we will receive a match dollar-for-dollar up to $2,500.

Contribute today, and help us continue our independent voice for the coming year!
