| If you want to do grassroots organizing, it's a really good idea to contact your political party's Senate District Chair—these are the people in your neighborhood and community who have been working in the trenches at the local level.
The Senate District Chair is a volunteer position and some chairs are more active and experienced than others, but the only way to find out is to ask! The key is to contact that person and ask, "Can you or someone on your committee help me figure out how to do grassroots organizing?"
The best way to find your Senate District Chair is to contact the party office and ask for that person to contact you. To do that, you need to know your Senate District number which you can find using the Legislative District Finder.
When you contact the party office, spend some time wandering around their Web site to learn about each party's positions on the issues. Then copy and paste the following text into the body of an email to the general office email address, fill in the blanks, add your personal touches, and voila your Senate District Chair should contact you!
