| Presentations by Parents United for Public Schools
Parents United for Public Schools offers free presentations on the State of Public Education and Public Education Funding in Minnesota to:
- Provide the context to answer the question, "How Did We get Here?"
- Show the crux of the issues to help people understand how we're at a "Crossroads for Public Schools," and
- Show the impact of state demographic changes and what must be done to honestly answer the question, "How much is enough?"
Parents United Executive Director Mary Cecconi has given numerous presentations on the State of Public Education in Minnesota to groups such as the League of Women Voters, Hastings Council on Black Minnesotans, American Association of University Women, Minnesota Rural Education Association, Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, Hamline University, and the Association of Metropolitan School Districts, to name just a few.
In addition she has presented at parent and community groups across the state, including Centennial, Bemidji, Deer River, Fergus Falls, Parkers Prairie, Alexandria, Saint Cloud, Osseo, Maple Grove, White Bear Lake, Roseville, Woodbury, Stillwater, Saint Louis Park, Hopkins, Edina, Burnsville, Marshall, Northfield, Rochester, Minneapolis and Saint Paul. She has also represented the parent perspective on various panels.
