2007 AYP Calculations
To make the information more accessible to parents, the following summary of Minnesota requirements and new features is extracted from AYP 2007 an Overview of Minnesota’s Requirements (Power Point) prepared July 27, 2007 by the Minnesota Department of Education and available at MDE > Accountability Programs > No Child Left Behind Programs.

What is new in 2007?

  • Enrollment data from MARSS used to set both participation and proficiency counts
  • MTAS – Minnesota Test of Academic Skills for some special education students
  • MTELL – Math Test for English Language Learners for some LEP students
  • All groups of 20 are evaluated for proficiency
  • Two percent proxy adjustment in some cases for special education groups
