State Advisory Committees

Another way to build support for public education is to serve on related state councils, boards, task forces and commissions.

Some vacancies are filled through an Open Appointments process managed by the Secretary of State. To be in the loop on these, ask to be added to the monthly Open Appointments announcements e-list in an email to open.appointments@state.mn.us.

Others are filled through public appeals made by the Minnesota Department of Education (e.g., September 18, 2006 - MDE Invites Minnesotans to Participate in Revision of Math Standards). The best way to stay current on MDE efforts is to sign up to receive their News Center Updates (left sidebar).
