Plan Your Day on the Hill

Plan now for your 2009 Day at the Capitol. How will your organization or coalition demonstrate a visible and meaningful presence at the Capitol? How can a “day on the hill” have an impact on moving forward the issue(s) your organization cares about? How can you maximize the opportunity to educate elected officials and staff about your nonprofit and issues. How can you make this a valuable experience for participants?

You will learn about:

coordinating logistics
strategic considerations for high impact
coordinating meetings between constituents and legislators.

This workshop will be presented by Marcia Avner, director of public policy, Minnesota Council of Nonprofits; and Amy Brugh, public policy director, Minnesota Aids Project.

Date: Thursday, October 23
Time: 9 a.m. - noon
Location: Minnesota Council of Nonprofits building; 2314 University Ave. W., Ste. 20; St. Paul. Please note that this workshop will be held in the MAP for Nonprofits meeting room
