September 18, 2008 - 2008 MSBA Survey Shows 50 Districts Trying for Operating Levy, 30 for bond or capital facilities levy

MSBA's 2008 Referenda Survey shows 50 school districts going out for an operating levy referendum this year. Of those 50, eight have gone to a vote earlier in the year, two went out for a vote Sept. 9, and the other 40 will put their questions to a vote Nov. 4.

There are also 30 districts trying for a bond election or capital facilities vote this year. Of those, 14 have already requested funds, eight were up for a vote Sept. 9, and the other eight will try Nov. 4. Three of the eight going in November are for one-day bonds.
