Navigating the Capitol

The Minnesota State Capitol and adjacent buildings can feel like a labyrinth, especially now that the Capitol itself is closed this session for construction. Here are some maps and links that will help you navigate where, when and how to reach your legislature.

The House of Representatives, 2016

  • The House will continue to host committee meetings at the State Office Building as usual. The public is always welcome to attend.
  • House floor sessions will take place at the Capitol in the House Chamber. Access by the pubic will be limited. Public access passes will be distributed on a first come basis in Room 10 of the State Office Building 30 minutes prior to a floor session’s scheduled start time. Passes will only be good that day.
  • Floor sessions can be lengthy and not often heavily attended. If you cannot be there 30 minutes prior, it may still be worthwhile to come.
  • Floor sessions will be broadcast on TV.
  • Representatives offices remain at the State Office Building.
