Complaints pile up for Minnesota’s top 10 tutoring services

Long service delays. Rude customer service representatives. Broken equipment. These were just some of the nearly 200 complaints filed against two dozen tutoring services in Minnesota in recent years. The only major tutoring service in Minnesota that drew no complaints from parents or local school officials was Friendship Community Service, a non-profit organization.

*Educate Online is one of three companies that failed its initial review in 2011 but was later approved by state officials.

Source: School districts of Anoka-Hennepin, Duluth, Minneapolis, North St. Paul, Osseo, Robbinsdale, Rochester, Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan, St. Cloud and St. Paul. Revenue figures include projections based on 2011-12 enrollment data.
