Changing the Narrative

MinnPost’s Erin Hinrichs recently wove many stories into her story about a group of students at Wellstone International, a Minneapolis Public School. These students are working to change “the immigrant narrative” with the help of Tea Rozman-Clark, executive director of Green Card Voices. By publishing personal accounts of young immigrants, Rozman-Clark is attempting to change false narratives to true stories, including their “reason for coming to America, the details of their journey, their integration experiences and their future aspirations.” Their collective goals are empowerment and empathy.
