Can music education budge the gap?

Prince, was Minnesota public school student. Local graduate student, Derek Otte, suggested in a letter to the Star Tribune that Prince himself accredited a teacher for offering him a practice room to explore his music that paved the way to genius. Otte and others this week are calling for public support for music education in public schools as “learning to play an instrument can have a dramatically positive effect on a child’s future academic trajectory.”
