School Legislators

Legislators listen most to their constituents—the people they represent.  But school district boundaries and legislative district boundaries aren't the same. Use these resources to find out who represents your school and your district.

Too Cool!

The Minnesota Office of Geographic and Demographic Analysis now provides school district maps.

In addition, Minnesota Geographic Information Services - Has added several new state maps showing both school district and legislative-congressional districts, primary home language concentrations, and enrollment changes (scroll down to school districts or zoom in directly on the state district map).

Who represents your school at the State Legislature?

There's two ways to find out who represents your school:

  • The first and perhaps easiest is to enter the school's address into the Legislative District Finder. This gives you the list of elected officials who represent that particular school. Use this information to create a Local Legislative Directory by School.

  • The second way is to enter your school address at the state's School District Finder. This gives you your school district name and number, and your Minnesota House district number.

School District Maps

Not sure of your school district boundaries?

The Minnesota Department of Education offers statewide and metro area school district maps, as well as county maps indicating concentrations of students by primary home language.

The Minnesota Office of Geographic and Demographic Analysis provides full page school district maps with enough detail to identify street and section boundaries.

School Legislator ARCHIVE
In 2005, Parents United cross-referenced the school district-legislative district files; although outdated, some might find the file formats useful for updating locally.
