I just want to take a minute and let you know how hard I have been working with my friends, neighbors and family members, trying to get our children a proper education.  To me a proper education would consist of a workable classroom with one teacher and a para or two to deal with the individuals with special needs.  This is not happening in my district, because of the recent budget cuts, and the lack of funding for government mandated  programs.

Currently my children are going to school and have 30+ children in the classroom and the teachers are just policing the rooms. They have admitted to this and it only looks like it is going to get worse.   After school, they are sending the school work home as home work, and I am attempting to teach my children at home after myself working a 10+ hour a day job.  To add to this over flowing boat of responsibilities, I am trying to fight for a levy in our district and if it does not pass we will have more teacher cuts and my children will be even more swamped with pm responsibilities.  I am looking at not sending my 4 year old who will be 5 in August because of this issue.  Why send him into an unmanageable not to mention disruptive kindergarten classroom.

As a child growing up, I do not remember having to struggle to learn, but that is what the lack of funds going into our school districts is doing. You need to remember that these children are our future and I hope  when you sit down to do your job you will see that there will be an increase of funds needed to house individuals in our correctional facilities. Remember, it is because of this lack of funding that will turn our children in this negative direction.  If we do not give them the attention they need in our school system they will seek it out else where and if we do not educate, where else are they going to go.

I will truly remember the people who are heading our wonderful state if this should happen to any one of my four children who are trying to learn in this public education system.
