Two years and three months after a Robbinsdale School District 281 referendum was defeated - and 15 months after a subsequent referendum was successful - a lawsuit involving the 281 CARE Committee has been denied in U.S. District Court.... The lawsuit claimed that enforcement of Minnesota's statute banning false speech relating to school bond levy referenda was contrary to the First Amendment.
