Programmer and business owner Michael Miles is the former chair and a member of the Chaska Legislative Committee and founding member of Parents United for Public Schools. He helped launch the Parents United effort by setting up the original Web site, database and email systems for the organization. Mike has two kids in high school in ISD #112 (Chaska/ Chanhassen/Victoria/West Union/Carver) whom he enjoys teasing, embarrassing and, if permitted, accompanying to the movies. Mike also enjoys mountain biking, cross country skiing and rowing. "I believe it is our duty as citizens to leave this place in at least as good of shape as we’ve found it. If you consider the history of the State of Minnesota and the country, our locally controlled public schools have been instrumental in promoting values such as industriousness, egalitarianism, and caring for each other. This is the glue that holds us together and makes Minnesotans so special. Without strong and healthy public schools we place the future of our state and country in jeopardy." —Michael Miles | |||||||||||||||||||||||
