Update for February 1, 2010 — An important week in Minnesota

Caucuses
This is a big week in Minnesota. The legislative session begins Thursday (Feb. 4), but before that it’s Caucus Night.

In Minnesota, the caucus system is the way neighbors work together to have their voices represented in the election process. Besides voting, attending a local caucus is the most direct way to have your voice heard. Caucus night in Minnesota is tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2. Find out where, how, and what to expect.

One of the most important processes on caucus night is the submission of resolutions. If your neighborhood group decides to send your resolution on, it is on its way to become part of the state party’s platform! If you are interested, we have a few sample resolutions for your consideration.

It may seem scary at first, but remember: if you are not at your caucus and being heard, whose voice is being heard? The education platforms of Minnesota’s political parties are determined by caucus attendees and convention delegates. You can have an impact on these platforms!

Try it – on February 2, attend your neighborhood caucus.

When the Legislative Session begins on Thursday, it promises to be fast and furious! Four things to do:
