7/15/2009 9:00 AM - 7/17/2009 5:00 PM The National Civic Summit is a forum to help individuals and organizations grow non-partisan civic imagination, skill and impact. It’s also designed to help nonprofits learn how to use new social media tools to advance our civic missions. The event is presented by the Citizens League with support in part from the Minnesota League of Women Voters. There are two events you can get involved with: There will be a National Tweetup at Mill City Musuem on Wednesday, July 15th, 6-9 p.m. to tweet about the Summit's efforts and priorities. If you've never tweeted before it only takes a minute to set up your Twitter account. Visit the Civic Training site below for an introduction to social media and sign up for ongoing complimentary social media training and event updates, including the Tweetup Poll. You can also attend The Connection – a series of workshops and exhibits to help civic-minded organizations grow access and impact. Leaders from around the country will offer insights on important topics, best-in-class tools and approaches. The event is free and open to the public on Thursday, July 16th and Friday, July 17th, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Minneapolis Hilton. Related Links | |||||||||||||||||||||
