12/8/2008 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Family & Children's Service Community Room 4123 East Lake Street Minneapolis, MN 55406 The Family Project seeks to increase the health, safety, and success of children and their families by creating space for families to come together and build networks of support. The project serves families of color, immigrant and low-income families, and families who share common characteristics, values and concerns in the Twin Cities metro area. We are recognized as a unique, best-practice model for engaging parents in schools and low-income communities, and helping systems become more responsive to all families. The Family Project is a family-centered community organizing model, which is comprised of four core components: 1) Relationship Building, 2) Building strengths and capacities with parents, 3) Collaborations and partnerships, and 4) Goal setting. We offer training and coaching in this model in order to position parents to strengthen their individual parenting capacities, and become equal partners with the institutions that affect their families. Come and learn strategies to engage all families in coming together to increase the health, safety, and success of their children. The training costs $60 per participant - parents attending the training are free! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
