Children’s Issues Briefing

Join the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits at our annual Children's Briefing on Thursday, December 4 where we will explore issues relevant to Minnesota’s smallest residents and the organizations who work on their behalf. Speakers include legislative leaders and nonprofit advocates who work on a variety of children's issues including education, health care, and child care.

Speakers include:

  • A representative from the MN Obama presidential campaign describing what President-elect Obama’s platform will mean for children
  • Mark Kimball, Children’s Defense Fund – MN, on federal budget
  • Carole Specktor, Children’s Defense Fund – MN, on state budget
  • Speaker of the House Margaret Anderson Kelliher (invited)
  • Legislative leaders from the Early Childhood Caucus 
  • Rep. Mindy Greiling on the New Minnesota Miracle
  • Chris Ganzlin from the McKnight Foundation on the Early Childhood Business Plan
