Care About the State Budget Deficit? Come to a Strategy Discussion
9/10/2008 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

The last legislative session yielded many unfortunate cuts to essential programs - from cuts in public defenders to workforce development. And the pain is far from over. Our state is facing another budget shortfall of close to $1 billion for the next budget biennium ($2 billion if inflation is included). Now is the time for advocates and concerned citizens to come together and forge a better way forward. Join us at a bring-your-own lunch and strategy discussion, hosted by Invest in Minnesota, a coalition of nonprofit, labor and religious groups, including the Minnesota Budget Project.

Speakers: Nan Madden, Minnesota Budget Project/Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, Brian Rusche, Joint Religious Legislative Coalition, and Dane Smith, Growth & Justice
