The Minnesota Department of Education will be taking part in the Statehood Weekend Festival, May 17-18, 2008, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. This event is part of Minnesota’s Sesquicentennial celebration and will feature historical characters from Minnesota's past, music in the Capitol rotunda and guided tours of the Quadriga—the golden horses on the roof of the Capitol. The MDE booth will feature the Minnesota Book Award winners, innovative student projects, a Minnesota History timeline activity and more.
